  • Has your weight gone to the dark side?

  • Is anxiety becoming a norm in your life?

In this 1.30hr webinar you will:

  • Understand what menopause is and what happens in your body

  • Learn what symptoms can occur as our key hormones go into decline during this time

  • Learn about the symptoms no one wants to talk about

She’s helped over 150 companies choose support over silence including Workday International, StateStreet, Department of Health, Sainsburys, and Microsoft. Catherine is author of All you need to know about menopause and is on a mission to shatter the menopause taboo, for good.

Catherine Says

‘I’ve always had an interest in health and wellbeing, but it was when perimenopause took me by surprise at age 44 that I started focusing on women’s health specifically in this phase.

What I found? Traditionally, there’s been very little support or understanding available for women going through the menopause.

It’s almost like as a society, we’re afraid to talk about it. It’s almost like women are expected to close their mouths, grit their teeth, and get on with life as if everything is normal.

But I know nothing is normal during the menopause’

CANCELLED - The New Consciousness Children - Dr Alweena Awan

alweena2018.JPG

This event has been cancelled. Bookings have been refunded

Children seem to be coming into this world in a more evolved and heightened state of awareness. Before they have been exposed to all of our incongruities and limitations, they are a immense source of wisdom and inspiration.

Greta Thunberg is an example of someone who has transgressed her conventional label of Asperger, and is showing the world that she is re-ordered not dis-ordered!

These children are connected, congruent, coherent , present and authentic .They state precisely what they know to be true for them. They speak from a place of certainty and authenticity about something that they genuinely feel, and then, most frequently, simply are present. Love, light, and compassion are the dominant themes of their inner remembering. They need to feels safe and nurtured so they can to speak of their own unique inner knowing about the world beyond this physical domain. In order to do so they need to feel safe and in control of their bodies via being Physically Literate.

Yet these children seem to be misunderstood, constantly labelled, struggling in the education system and emotionally.

This seminar is about the following:

  • What are they like ?

  • What is the role of these children?

  • How do we best support and nurture them ?

  • Why Physical Literacy is important?

  • How is Physical Literacy hindered?

  • What kind of education do they need?

  • and the way forward!

This information will be of value to teachers, educators, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and anyone linked children.

Dr Alweena Awan received her Doctorate in “Raising Children's Learning and Performance in Schools”, in 2008. She is the Founder of The Child Centre Method - Learning and Behaviour Program®. She is also the originator of CHILD, which is the Centre for Holistic Improvement in Learning and Development, which she created in 2004.

ZOOM SEMINAR: Beating Brain Fog - Dr Sabina Brennan

Dr Sabina Brennan

Dr Sabina Brennan

THIS IS NOW A ZOOM EVENT - A LINK WILL BE SENT TO YOU NEARER THE TIME AND A RECORDING OF THE SEMINAR WILL BE SENT TO THOSE THAT HAVE BOOKED

If you complain of brain fog to a medical professional, you’re likely to be told that it isn’t a recognised condition. But if you mention brain fog to your friends, they’ll know exactly what you mean: fuzzy thinking, trouble concentrating, a sense of grasping for the right word, feeling like your brain is somehow slowed down. In truth, brain fog is not a diagnosis in itself, but a sign that things aren’t right in your body.

There have been over 67 million Google searches for ‘brain fog’ online, but most medical professionals claim there is no such thing. Sufferers are left frustrated and without help or treatment, but there is a way to beat brain fog.

Based on her book, BEATING BRAIN FOG, neuroscientist and health psychologist Dr Sabina Brennan will guide you through the science to explain how our brains work, and why we might experience confusion and anxiety. She gives tools to help identify your own cognitive profile, determining your specific symptoms and potential causes, and offers simple strategies to help you feel like yourself again.

Dr Brennan addresses the multiple causes of brain fog from that caused by hormonal changes, ageing and chemotherapy, to childbirth, medications, ill health, stress and more. Many women first encounter brain fog after childbirth, and then again when perimenopause begins. As the conversation on hormonal imbalance grows, so does the search for solutions to brain fog. Dr Brennan also shows how clearer thinking starts in the gut and explains the importance of the gut/brain connection: what we eat affects how we think.

Many brain fog symptoms can be eliminated through simple lifestyle changes addressing sleep, nutrition, exercise and stress.

Offering simple solutions without any complicated tests or expensive supplements, Dr Brennan's 30-day plan is straightforward and easily adapted to your lifestyle. It helps you to tackle the lifestyle factors that can cause or exacerbate brain fog, helping you think faster, sharper and better in just one month.

Dr Sabina Brennan is a chartered health psychologist, neuroscientist, award-winning science communicator, host of the critically-acclaimed Super Brain podcast, and author of the international bestseller 100 DAYS TO A YOUNGER BRAIN (Orion Spring).

Dr Brennan leads a large-scale research study on Brain health, lifestyle, genomics and dementia risk at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland’s premier university. Dr Brennan has been engaged as an advisor to governments and global businesses influencing policy and practice in the areas of brain health, ageing, dementia, migraine and multiple sclerosis. She also volunteers on scientific advisory boards and advocacy panels supporting charities, non-profits and NGOs.

Dr Bruce Lipton - Link to recording

A World In Evolution - Thriving Through Planetary Chaos

We are delighted to welcome Bruce back to Ireland in the Autumn. Having hosted him over Zoom during Covid we can welcome him in person on October 19th.

Read the news, surf the Web, or look out your window, and you will observe that civilization is in a world of crises: From economic collapse to environmental decay, from social and political upheaval to climate change, from hunger, poverty, war, to even a global pandemic.

Crisis ignites evolution! If today’s headlines make you wonder about the fate of our planet, here is some news that may surprise you, from an evolutionary standpoint, we are exactly where we need to be. We are surrounded by evidence that we are on the threshold of a major evolutionary event … Conscious Evolution.

The turning point of change emerges as people awaken to their inherent power, a new force turning fear of an unwanted situation into hope of new possibilities. Cell biologist and bestselling author Bruce H. Lipton, PhD, presents revolutionary research that reveals how thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs create the conditions of our body and life experiences.

Bruce’s dynamic multimedia presentation provides new science to help navigate this turbulent period in our planet’s history, so that we may evolve from passive victims to responsible co-creators of the world to come. The program offers a bold and hopeful vision of the next “holistic” stage of human civilization and how each of us can fully participate in creating the world to come.

Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D., stem cell biologist, epigenetic science pioneer, and bestselling author of The Biology of Belief, Spontaneous Evolution (with Steve Bhaerman) and The Honeymoon Effect. Bruce is a recipient of the prestigious Japanese Goi Peace Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions toward the realization of a peaceful and harmonious world for all life on Earth.

Bruce will explore:

  • How thoughts, emotions, and environment, control our genes and the character of our behavior

  • The interaction between the body (hardware), the mind (software), and spirit (programmer), that naturally occurs within you.

  • A biological model of mind-body interactions that educates, empowers, and promotes self-responsibility

  • How prenatal and perinatal experiences provide programmed subconscious perceptions that shape our physiology and behavior.

  • How to become the master of your fate rather than the ‘victim’ of your programs

  • The power of the subconscious: Reprogramming your deeply ingrained patterns to live the life you want

  • Why the often-dismissed Placebo Effect is your most powerful healing tool

  • The Nocebo Effect – The science of “negative thinking” and how to break free from the limiting stories we tell ourselves

  • Beyond “survival of the fittest” – How consciousness and cooperation are critical to civilization’s survival and growth

  • The scientific insights that reveal the nature and role of our immortal spirituality

  • The way to make success a self-fulfilling prophecy, rather than a day-to-day struggle

Dr Tony Humphreys - Understanding Teenagers: Sometimes Wild, Always Wise

Tony Humphreys2.jpg

Due to popular demand we have invited Tony back to give his excellent seminar on Teenagers.

Adolescence is about becoming adult. Depending on the teenager’s experiences in infancy and childhood, the teenage years can be a rollercoaster of emotional highs and lows or a relatively smooth ride into maturity. The level of maturity of the significant adults in teenagers’ lives – parents and teachers – is critical to how well teenagers manage the many challenges – physical, emotional, sexual, intellectual, behavioural, social, creative and spiritual – that come their way.

Attention to what lies hidden behind teenager’s distressing responses is required for teenagers to begin to make progress towards mature adulthood. Parents and teachers need to understand that when young people are troubled and troubling they are not trying to make life difficult for parents, teachers and others; they are trying to communicate how difficult life is for them.

Themes covered during the seminar will be:

  • The wisdom of adolescence

  • Teenagers’ search for identity

  • Parents’/teachers’ defensive behaviours that threaten teenagers’ wellbeing

  • Helping teenagers who are troubled and troubling

  • Identifying teenagers who are suffering inner turmoil

  • Parental ‘letting go’ and teenagers’ ‘leave-taking’

Zoom Seminar: Near Death Experience - Dr Eben Alexander

Dr Eben Alexander

Dr Eben Alexander will focus on his NDE and the account in his book Proof of Heaven, and he will talk about its impacts in the 13 years since then, which brings in discussion of consciousness, the brain's function, memory, spiritual health and meditation.

Academic neurosurgeon Dr. Eben Alexander III, whose career includes decades as a physician and associate professor at Harvard Medical School and revered teaching hospitals, was once staunchly committed to the materialist world view -- the belief that the physical world is all that exists. His scientific belief system was altered by his 2008 transcendental near-death experience (NDE), an odyssey into another realm during a week-long coma. Despite a bleak medical prognosis, Dr. Alexander awoke to make an inexplicable return to full health. His medical case and recovery were validated in the peer-reviewed Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease. Since his NDE, Dr. Alexander has been reconciling his rich spiritual experience with quantum physics, cosmology and the philosophy of mind. Dr. Alexander speaks around the world to educate about the role that consciousness plays in wellness, healing and recovery.

A pioneering scientist and modern thought leader, Dr. Alexander has been featured in more than 400 media interviews including for ABC-TV’s Good Morning America and 20/20, The Dr. Oz Show, Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday, Larry King Now, Fox and Friends, Discovery Channel, Biography Channel and numerous international radio, digital and podcasts.

His books are available in more than 40 countries: Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife, The Map of Heaven: How Science, Religion, and Ordinary People Are Proving the Afterlife, and Living in a Mindful Universe: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Heart of Consciousness, co-authored with Sacred Acoustics co-founder Karen Newell.

Zoom Seminar - Protecting children from online pornography: Stella O'Malley

Stella O'Malley is a psychotherapist, best-selling author, public speaker and a parent with many years’ experience working in counselling and psychotherapy. Born in Dublin, Stella now calls Birr, Co. Offaly home where she lives with her husband and two children and runs her private practice.

Whether we like it or not, at some point children are going to come across some form of pornography. Many are under twelve years old so the problem must be addressed at primary school level. Pornography is deeply damaging to young minds as it distorts sex into a brutal violent act rather than the romantic relationship it should be. Violence towards women is common and expectations on both sexes are unrealistic and distorted.

This interactive seminar will discuss these issues and provide guidance to parents on how to protect their children

As my doctors gathered to revive me, I journeyed into a near-death experience (NDE) where I was given the choice to return to my physical form or to continue into this new realm. I chose the former, and when I regained consciousness, my cancer began to heal.”

ZOOM WEBINAR - What is Ageism Anyway? Dr Sabina Brennan

Dr Sabina Brennan

Dr Sabina Brennan

Ageism is a prejudice against older people because they are old, and while racism and sexism is now regarded as politically incorrect, ageism seems to slide under the radar.

While the main thrust of this talk is ageism, Sabina will first explore what ageing is to get people thinking about the factors beyond the number of years since birth that influence how well or how badly we age. Then she will move on to ageism and finally finish with what actions we and others can take to tackle ageism including self-ageism

  • Ageism can affect anyone at any age but my talk will focus on ageism towards older adults.

  • Ageism is the most common form of prejudice, more tolerated than racism or sexism.

  • Ageism leads to discrimination, inequaity, stereotyping and prejudicial actions and practices.

  • Ageism impacts on health, health care and treatment.

  • Older people are less likely to be given the same medical treatment as younger adults even when it is likely to be just as effective.

  • Ageism is a major barrier to the human rights of older people - Older people don't deserve more or less respect than younger people but they are entitled to the same rights as everyone else

Zoom Seminar - John Pilger & Denis Halliday - CANCELLED

John Pilger

John Pilger

Denis Halliday

Denis Halliday

THIS WEBINAR HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Follow this link for John Pilger’s account of the ongoing trial of Julian Assange CLICK HERE

This webinar is a conversation between ex UN Co-ordinator Denis Halliday and seasoned journalist and film maker John Pilger as they discuss the case of Julian Assange and the threat of war, particularly nuclear war.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions. The seminar will be recorded and your booking will give you access to the recording.

John Pilger is an Australian firebrand journalist. He has reported from all over the world, covering numerous wars, notably Vietnam. Still in his twenties, he became the youngest journalist to receive Britain's highest award for journalism, Journalist of the Year and was the first to win it twice. Moving to the United States, he reported the upheavals there in the late 1960s and 1970s. He marched with America's poor from Alabama to Washington, following the assassination of Martin Luther King. He was in the same room when Robert Kennedy, the presidential candidate, was assassinated in June 1968.

His work in South East Asia produced an iconic issue of the London Mirror, devoted almost entirely to his world exclusive dispatches from Cambodia in the aftermath of Pol Pot's reign. The combined impact of his Mirror reports and his subsequent documentary, Year Zero: the Silent Death of Cambodia, raised almost $50 million for the people of that stricken country. Similarly, his 1994 documentary and dispatches report from East Timor, where he travelled under cover, helped galvanise support for the East Timorese, then occupied by Indonesia.

In Britain, his four-year investigation on behalf of a group of children damaged at birth by the drug Thalidomide, and left out of the settlement with the drugs company, resulted in a special settlement.
He has won an Emmy and a BAFTA for his documentaries, which have also won numerous US and European awards, such as as the Royal Television Society's Best Documentary.

Secretary-General Kofi Annan appointed Denis J. Halliday, a national of Ireland, to the post of United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq as of 1 September 1997, at the Assistant Secretary-General level, and he served as such until end September 1998. During this period, the Security Council Resolution 986 “Oil for Food” Programme, introduced in 1996/97 to assist the people of Iraq under the Economic Sanctions imposed and sustained by the Security Council, was more than doubled in terms of oil revenues allowed. This enabled the introduction of a multi-sectoral approach, albeit modest, to the problems of resolving malnutrition and child mortality. Mr Halliday resigned from the post in Iraq and from the United Nations as a whole effective 31 October 1998 after serving the Organisation since mid 1964 - some 34 years.

Prior to that, and from mid 1994, Mr Halliday served as Assistant Secretary-General for Human Resources Management of the United Nations, based in its New York Headquarters. During this period, he introduced on behalf of the Secretary-General to the General Assembly a strategy for the better management, performance and development of some 15,000 United Nations staff world-wide.

Before taking up the Human Resources Management function in mid 1994, following a brief assignment in Thailand as UNDP Regional Representative, Mr Halliday had been Director, Division of Personnel, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) from late 1989 into early 1994. He took over that post after being Chef de Cabinet, Office of the Administrator, of the UNDP for some two years.

Mr Halliday has spent most of his long career with the United Nations in development and humanitarian assistance-related posts both in New York and overseas, primarily in South-East Asia. Following a year in Kenya as a Quaker volunteer 1962-63, Mr Halliday joined the United Nations in 1964 serving in Teheran, Iran as a junior professional officer in the forerunner of UNDP - the United Nations Technical Assistance Board and Special Fund. From 1966 to 1972, he served in the Asia Bureau of UNDP Headquarters in New York and then transferred to Malaysia in 1972. In Malaysia, covering programmes in that country plus Singapore and Brunei, he served until 1877 as Deputy Regional Representative. In Indonesia, he continued at the Deputy level for two years until 1979, when he was asked to reopen and head up as Resident Representative the UNDP office in Samoa covering that country, the Cook Islands, the Tokelau Islands and Niue in the South Pacific.

In 1981, Mr Halliday was asked to return to New York to serve in the Asia and Pacific Bureau where he was involved in setting up the first round table meetings of UNDP for Asia. In 1985, he took up the post of Deputy Director, Division of Personnel before becoming Chef de Cabinet in 1987.

Mr Halliday graduated from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland and holds an M.A. in Economics, Geography and Public Administration

ZOOM WEBINAR: Breakthrough - The Power of Interrupted Relationships - Dr Tony Humphreys

Tony Humphreys2.jpg

NOW A ZOOM WEBINAR, questions can be taken and attendees will participate through the chat box function

Breakthrough - The Power of Interrupted Relationships

The three most common creative delusions are :

  • we all come from happy families

  • marriage will bring me happiness

  • having children will make me happy.

The consequences of these delusions are GREAT EXPECTATIONS and, when not met, great disappointment and resentment. The reality is that fulfillment lies in each of our own hands, that separateness is the basis for togetherness and in couple liaisons each needs to appoint the other the guardian of their solitude.

Dr. Tony Humphreys is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Author and National and International Speaker.

He began his career as a Clinical Psychologist in State Psychiatric and Psychological Services in England and Ireland and since 1990 has been working in private practice in Ireland.

He works with individuals, couples, families, schools, local communities and the business community. He is the Director of three National University of Ireland courses which are run in University College Cork and in an outreach centre in Dublin.

He is Co-Founder of  The Irish Association of Relationship Mentors and a Member of Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), IARM.

ZOOM SEMINAR: Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness: Practices for safe and transformative healing - An Evening with David Treleaven PhD

david treleaven.jpg

The Double Edged Sword of Mindfulness: Making Mindfulness safe for everyone including trauma survivors.

If you deliver any mind body practices such as mindfulness meditation, yoga or any other type of contemplative practice, trauma is likely to show up in your classroom.  Perhaps you are a mindfulness teacher, psychotherapist, a guidance counsellor or work in pastoral care and hospice care. You may have noticed how class participants’ sometime react in a way you didn’t expect.

As the mindfulness teacher or facilitator, you have an inkling that something may not be quite right but you are not sure what? Perhaps it could be an old trauma, an upsetting memory or a reaction that the person didn’t quite expect. It could have been a something that required support and guidance. As a mindfulness teacher or therapist it is important to be equipped to recognise and respond to this.

Mindfulness is a proven stress reduction tool that has become increasingly popular and while this is a good thing- it can be like a double edged sword- good in one way, for stress reduction. However, mindfulness has the potential to exacerbate symptoms of traumatic stress. As teachers we need to know how to take good care of our participants.

This evening talk will explore the intersection of mindfulness and trauma. You will be introduced to Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness by David Treleaven. David has made the study of this his life’s work and is an expert in the area, he offers an authentic understanding of trauma, that includes his personal experience while on meditation retreat.  We will explore the ways in which we need to adapt our teaching or therapy sessions so that we can integrate mindfulness in a safe way for everyone and especially trauma survivors.

David Treleaven, PhD, is a writer, educator, and trauma professional whose work focuses on the intersection of trauma and mindfulness. He is author of the book Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness: Practices for Safe and Transformative Healing (W. W. Norton, 2018), which was acclaimed by Rick Hanson as “a rare combination of solid scholarship, clinically useful methods, and passionate advocacy for those who have suffered from trauma.” He’s lectured on trauma-sensitive mindfulness at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and the Omega Institute in New York. Trained in counseling psychology at the University of British Columbia, he received his doctorate in psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is currently a visiting scholar at Brown University.

ZOOM SEMINAR - Reframe Your Mindset - Dr Niamh Flynn

Dr Niamh Flynn

Dr Niamh Flynn

Whether you are suffering from anxiety, migraine, want to lose weight, stop smoking or transform your business with goal setting hypnotherapy can help.

Hypnosis can be highly effective in dealing with these issues by helping you reframe your mindset.

The earliest reference to hypnosis relates to sleep temples in Egypt (3000-1000 BC) and Greece (2000-500BC) which provided refuge for patients whose healing experience involved hypnotic chanting. Sometime later, Paracelsus, a German-Swiss physician, botanist, alchemist and astrologer who lived from 1493 to 1541 was documented as using hypnotic techniques. He believed that the body could heal itself and that the mind and body are intertwined in the healing process.

There is an abundance of literature demonstrating the efficacy of hypnosis for everything from migraines to weight loss and more recently, imaging techniques have allowed us to gain an insight into what is happening in the brain when suggestions are given to a person who is in the trance state.

This talk will delve into

  • the type of conditions that hypnosis can help with

  • what to expect from an hypnosis session

  • who hypnosis is suitable for

  • misconceptions about hypnosis

  • efficacy of hypnosis

Dr. Niamh Flynn is a sports psychologist based in The Galway Clinic. She has over 20 years of experience working with elite and recreational athletes and with business people. Her aim is to help you to achieve your goals in the most efficient and fastest way possible. She has worked with intercounty teams, CEOs, COOs and athletes from a variety of sports to assist them to achieve their full potential. ZOOM SEMINAR - The Importance of Sleep - Dr John Arden

Dr John Arden

Dr John Arden

Did you know that hundreds of thousands of traffic accident deaths are caused by lack of sleep? Many more than are caused by alcohol and drug abuse. Lack of sleep can literally kill you and Dr John Arden will explore the science of a good night’s sleep in this webinar.

Mental health has suffered during lockdown and has affected sleep patterns with more and more people reporting lack of sleep. In today’s world of broadband connectivity in every room in the house, including the bedroom, it is important to address this issue and understand the need for a good night’s sleep.

The late William Dement, pioneer in the science of Sleep, found that 80% of students in Stanford were sleep deprived and that most adults wake up with sleep debt.

The best sleep habits are consistent, healthy routines that allow all of us, regardless of our age, to meet our sleep needs every night, to keep on top of life’s challenges every day. We require long periods of sleep in order to restore and rejuvenate, to grow muscle, repair tissue, and synthesize hormones and the most important part is Stage 4 sleep, which can be inhibited by alcohol and drug use.

Dr John Arden Dr. Arden’s study of neuropsychology has inspired him to integrate neuroscience and psychotherapy, synthesizing the biological and psychological into a new vision for psychotherapy: Brain-Based Therapy. His work incorporates what is currently known about the brain and its capacities, including neuroplasticity and neurogenesis, with psychotherapy research, mindfulness, nutritional neuroscience and social intelligence. He conducts seminars on Brain-Based Therapy throughout the United States and throughout the world.

ZOOM SEMINAR - Viktor Frankl Man's Search For Meaning - with Peter Purcell

peter purcell.jpg

Given the challenging times we find ourselves in today with Covid19 lockdown, let us draw inspiration from Viktor Frankl, a prominent Viennese psychiatrist before the war, he was uniquely able to observe the way that he and other inmates coped with the experience of being in Auschwitz. He noticed that it was the men who comforted others and who gave away their last piece of bread who survived the longest - and who offered proof that everything can be taken away from us except the ability to choose our attitude in any given set of circumstances.

The sort of person the prisoner became was the result of an inner decision and not of camp influences alone. Only those who allowed their inner hold on their moral and spiritual selves to subside eventually fell victim to the camp's degenerating influence - while those who made a victory of those experiences turned them into an inner triumph.

Frankl came to believe that man's deepest desire is to search for meaning and purpose. This outstanding work offers us all a way to transcend suffering and find significance in the art of living.

Peter Purcell designs experiences that cultivate meaning in organizations for whole health & well being. Logotherapy & Existential Analysis is at the core of the practice to help employees gain a different perspective, enable them to think and feel differently about the role of work in their life and to enhance or find a sense of meaning in their work.

In 2012 he read a book called “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. It touched him deeply, and in 2015 he received first class honors and a post graduate practitioner’s diploma in Logotherapy and Existential Analysis at Viktor Frankl Institute Ireland. He currently works as a clinical Logotherapist, integrating the philosophy, theory and practice in to every day life for people in business, sport and healthcare.

He is an academic associate with Viktor Frankl Institute Ireland, accredited with the international association of logotherapy and existential analysis in Vienna.
